bwt 0.2 has born :-)

Looks like there are more people interested in my script to check the bandwidth. :-)

So I have done some hacking to the code to improve the ugly scripts, specially bwt-plot.sh :-)

Hellmex bandwidth speed

This week was very frustrated for me, because my Internet Service Provider (aka Hellmex) was giving me very poor service on my bandwidth and I was unable to work properly.

I was checking my bandwidth speed at internet with my browser, and I was tired to do it manually. (besides that it was a waste of time)

So, I decided to write a little script to show them what I mean when I say that they are giving me shit, when this problem came up again.

After collecting data with my script I can plot it on a nice postscript or an image with gnuplot :-).

My bandwidth meter plot

As you can see this day is not so bad. But is nice to see how is my bandwidth speed around my work day.

Update: I have released the dummy script to check the speed within the gnuplot template and shellscript to generate the graphs inside the tarball.

amsn listen support

I just discovered listen, I have installed once but I have no time to check it at all.

Well yesterday I start to play with it and I really like it.

Also I am one of those guys who likes to shout his bad taste in music troutgh the msn nicks or similars, and I use the music plugin for amsn.

So I decided to hack a little the plugin and give it suppor for listen, and continue sharing my bad taste to the world.

It was pretty simple and it was finished in some minutes, I already sent the plugin to the board of amsn and I think they are going to audit my lame code.

However I am pretty happy using listen and sharing my bad taste to the world:

[UPDATE]
Guillermo Garcia sent me an update to provide banshee suport on the plugin, so you can see my recent post here, and the instructions to install it.
